Intel Workshop - Projection Mapping

Today was quality.

We got a basic run down on how projection mapping (projecting interactive / video content on the environment) works.

Here's one of the end results


This is an example of a Processing sketch being projected on to some (BSP!) boxes. The sketch makes it so that the visuals react to audio.




We started up doing some sketches over people projected over a photoshop canvas for fun:


That was fun. We then moved on to projecting various cubes on top of the cubes in Maya. Normally, one would measure the area that's getting mapped and then place the projector accordingly-- but we were in a rather cramped room and didn't have much time to set up so we cheated a bit.

This was the first setup that got done-- although it wasn't completed by this point

This setup was a bit more challenging

We got some BSP textures on top of our BSP boxes for this setup, though. Heh

Got one of them to be all wavy and hahah oh man it was great why didn't I record it hahaha....
We actually played Hamster Pinball on this ^ setup, and it looked really cool and inspiring.

Tomorrow morning, it's back to getting some cool things going on these boxes!
