Boss - UDK Test

Ran into some odd issues while importing my boss into UDK...


the non-regular checkered parts show up with no texture, as follows


....but was eventually fixed by importing it as a skeletal mesh rather than a static one...not sure why


but here he is, Miss America

Boss - Rigging Time

Just got him attached to the rig. Posed him around without any changes to the weights and um:


Not bad, to be honest. I expected more funky things happening.


...Maybe it's better with the tail curled in one direction...


I think I'll go with this one...

Updating texture for this dude, trying to make his flesh look somewhat more decaying rather than...fresh meat, I guess?

Ice Material with Tessellation and Reflections

So I've been stuck for the longest time on getting this icy material to look right and get things looking nice..

So I ended up making to vertex paint hard ice on interchangeable textures and even add icicles!


Not pictured above are regular set up for lerping textures-- using A for non-icy sections, B for the corresponding iced over stuff, and the alpha on the red channel for vertex painting. I have the icicles exclusively on the blue channel with the options of changing the length and amount of icicles as well as an option for using face normals to make them jut out instead of just a down vector.







Could still probably use some work but it worked pretty well on my hero asset.
